"Outlander" Season 3 is set to premiere in September and Starz recently released photos as teasers for the third installment of the series. The stills were released by Starz last week and this was followed by the first official video trailer which was unveiled on April 16.
In any case, the previous teaser that was shared in December 2016 showed Claire and Frank together in the year 1948 and they just celebrated the birth of their daughter, Brianna. Now, in the new photo teasers, Claire and Frank were pictured together and it can be assumed that they were attending their daughter's graduation.
It should be Brianna's highschool graduation since the man sitting behind the couple was shown holding a program where the words "Class of 1966" is visibly printed. The graduate is already 18 years old and almost an adult.
TV Guide notes that "Outlander" Season 3 will return to continue the story of season 2. It will pick up exactly where the second season ended but will focus more on Claire and Jamie's love story as they travel through time and find their way back in each other's arms.
Further, it was reported that although "Outlander" Season 3's episode 1 is set in the Bahamas, the scenes were actually shot in South Africa. The series' story has been based on Diana Gabaldon's "Voyager" novel and it will show the lengthy sea journey of the protagonist.
Aside from South Africa, the cast and crew will also fly to Scotland for additional locations for the seafaring scenes. All in all, the filming for the entire "Outlander" Season 3 is expected to end in May, four months ahead of the scheduled first broadcast in September.
Vanity Fair reported that "Outlander" Season 3 will feature 13 episodes in all. Meanwhile, the production for the show's fourth installment will begin right away after finishing the third, thus fans can expect very little time gap between the upcoming two seasons.
