"The Blacklist" Season 4 will reportedly be a test of who is telling the truth. As Red Reddington (James Spader) becomes the biggest enemy of all, Season 4 is said to be all about attacks and parental responsibilities.
"The Blacklist" Season 4 will reveal all of Liz's (Megan Boone) identity, doubts, while Red's motives will be answered when she agrees to meet Kirk (Ulrich Thomsen). In "The Blacklist" Season 3 finale twist, Kirk revealed that he is Liz's long lost father and said that he initially got the information about her existence when FBI declared a man hunt for her. After turning back on Red, Boone said in her May interview that Red's continued avoidance of her questions leads Liz to be cautious to his motives.
Meanwhile, "The Blacklist" Season 4's executive producer John Eisendrath gave a clue to Entertainment Weekly that Liz's father may not be the most powerful character for "The Blacklist" Season 4, since Liz is very convinced that he is telling the truth. He also said that there will be a lot of questions, turns and surprises.
The executive producer also assured that viewers will definitely relate to "The Blacklist" Season 4's theme as it will focus more on the parental responsibilities of Tom (Ryan Eggold) and Liz, and the usual challenges that couples go through. However, he was quick to add that the new season will never follow the normal domestic scene.
Furthermore, "The Blacklist" Season 4 will reportedly continue to unravel the relationship of every main character and the past events. Red will encounter a lot of attacks, and if he becomes persona non grata for Liz, he is expected to be ousted from FBI. Eisendrath also promised that Liz will face the consequences of her fake death, and that "The Blacklist" Season 4 will answer if she can make changes to the Post Office team for her betrayal.
"The Blacklist" Season 4 is also said to feature the values of integrity and honesty, following the many revelations that will start to unfold, Melty reported. "The Blacklist" Season 4 premieres on Sept. 22, Thursday on NBC.
