With positive notes from audience and critics alike, producers are ready to roll out the new installment for the new "Star Trek" series. In a press statement, Paramount released the synopsis of "Star Trek 4". It will tell the story of how Chris Pine character will meet his own father.
Word of the new installment of the film franchise delightedly surprised fans. In the new film, Chris Hemsworth will return as Kirk's father, George Kirk. According to James Porter, the news of Hemsworth joining the Star Trek cast is such a "great idea," given that Kirk been following in his father's footsteps all through the film series, The Guardian reported.
Chris Hemsworth's character first appeared in "Star Trek" way back in 2009 as the Starfleet commander of the USS Kelvin during its last moments battling against Nero and his crew of Romulans. George Kirk's character was believed to have died after USS Kelvin crashed with the Romulans' ship, Vanity Fair reported.
Therefore, the fourth "Star Trek" movie will take advantage of time travel. Jim Kirk and his crew will either go back to the past or it would be George Kirk who would take a trip to the future. Either way, it's going to be an exciting story.
Back in 2009, Hemsworth was still a relatively unknown performer. Since then, he has proven his mettle as a top box office star with such colossal hits as "thor," "The Avengers," and "Snow White." He has also excelled in drama (remember "In The Heart Of The Sea"?).
As for the screenplay, it is still unknown if Simon Pegg and Doug Jung will be writing the fourth film. It is also not sure if Justin Lin will take the helm of the film's direction. But given that the third installment was a big hit, it is highly possible that he will also be invited the direct the fourth installment. The main cast will surely all make their big screen comeback, minus Anton Yelchin who sadly died from accident.
