After being together for five years and getting engaged on Valentine's Day of 2015, Lady Gaga and Taylor Kinney have broken up.
According to US Weekly, sources close to the couple say that the main reason for the split is distance. Kinney is living in Chicago where he films the popular TV series "Chicago Fire" while Lady Gaga owns a home in Malibu. However, Lady Gaga goes to Chicago a lot to see him, but with music tours and other important things to do with her singing career, she couldn't be there all the time. The latter was spotted vacationing in Mexico with her family and friends without wearing her huge engagement ring that the former gave her when he popped the question last Valentine's Day.
According to the Mirror, the couple split earlier this month after agreeing they were apart more than they were together.
The ex-couple met during Lady Gaga's music video, "You and I," where Kinney played Gaga's love interest. The two had a lot in common with each other and had even moved in together, plus they also shared two French Bulldogs who they named, Koji and Miss Asia Kinney.
Although the couple were together for five years, they did took a break in their relationship in May 2012, but eventually got back together and have been together ever since, until this month, that is. Although they got engaged in 2015, there was never an announcement of when they would get married. This would have been the first marriage for both Lady Gaga and Taylor Kinney.
A source also says that once they got engaged, they were like any other excited and happy couple. They shared the news with the singer's parents, wherein Lady Gaga's father popped champagne while Kinney sat looking nervous because of all of the excitement.
