"Breaking Bad" actor Bryan Cranston is thrilled about the idea of making an appearance as Walter White/Heisenberg on AMC's "Better Call Saul." Cranston, who played the iconic drug kingpin, echoed his thoughts about the possibility of reprising his role on "Better Call Saul" Season 3.
According to Entertainment Weekly, Cranston was asked during an interview on the Rich Eisen Show if he would be interested in making a comeback as Walter White on "Better Call Saul" Season 3. Cranston, 60, did not think twice about the question and responded that he's "all in," should the opportunity arrives.
"I owe Vince Gilligan so much. He was my champion to get this role," Cranston said.
"If they were to call me and say, 'We have this idea, we'd like...' I would say, 'Yes, you don't have to finish the pitch."
While Cranston is very much willing to take Heisenberg back to the small screens, die-hard fans of "Breaking Bad" might just need to wait a little longer for the plan to be in motion. However, it is still likely that Cranston might get involved on "Better Call Saul" Season 3. The actor shared that he has been offered to direct an episode for the show's upcoming new season.
"I have an opportunity to direct an episode of Saul and I'm debating whether I want to or not because I'm a fan of the show, and in order to direct I need to know what no fan knows," Cranston said.
So far, series creator and showrunner Vince Gilligan has not yet commented on Cranston's statement about appearing on "Better Call Saul" Season 3. It is possible though that things are just being kept under wraps to surprise fans next year.
In other developments, "Better Call Saul" has been nominated at the Emmys this year for Outstanding Drama Series, Broadway World has learned. This marks as the show's second nomination after last year. Lead stars Bob Odenkirk and and Jonathan Banks are also nominated for Outstanding Lead Actor and Outstanding Supporting Actor (drama category), respectively.
