Microsoft Surface Pro 5 release is rumored to be delayed as Microsoft is still waiting for the availability of Intel Kaby Lake processors. The move is believed to be an attempt by Microsoft to win back the trust and favor of users who found the Microsoft Surface Pro 4 device disappointing.
The Microsoft Surface Pro 5 is suggested to be equipped with Intel's Kaby Lake processors, which is set to be released at end of this year. Because of this, the Microsoft Surface Pro 5 is only expected to be deployed in the first quarter of 2017, Neurogadget reported.
Another reason that the Microsoft Surface Pro 5 is more likely to be integrated with Kaby Lake processor is the improvement of the device's battery life, which is said to be in response to the most common Microsoft Surface Pro 4 feature complaint. Though it has been reported that the battery issues were caused by the device's software, the Kaby Lake processor are expected to help improve its battery reliability.
Rumors also surfaced that the Microsoft Surface Pro 5 will carry the new Windows 10 update called Redstone 2 (RS2). The said update has been reported to be released at the Windows 10 anniversary event this October. Speculations have also arisen that the Microsoft Surface Pro 5 may be released by then too, PC Advisor reported.
Other Microsoft Surface Pro 5 specs include an upgraded camera, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi features. It is also rumored to have two display variants in 2K and 4K resolutions, respectively. The device is also believed to have a USB-C port instead of the usual USB 3.0 port.
Microsoft Surface Pro 5 has also been rumored to have a Microsoft Surface Pen stylus with its own rechargeable battery. The stylus reportedly can be recharged wirelessly and attached to the hybrid tablet via a magnet. Rumors about the Microsoft Surface Pro 5 specs have not been confirmed by the Microsoft company though.
