Apple MacBook will scrap its Air series. The company is said to have shifted their focus more on the complete redesign of the Macbook Pro, which will then be called MacBook Pro 2016.
Apple MacBook Air has not received updates for years, which prompted speculations that the tech giant is going to discontinue the series rather than give it a new update. Rumors have also been fueled up when MacBook Pro showed strength in sales compared to what the MacBook Air devices have gathered.
The all new MacBook Pro is set to be released in the fourth quarter of the year. It will follow the the release of other Apple devices such as the iPhone 7 and iPad Mini 5, MacWorld reported.
MacBook Pro 2016 is expected to highlight a sleeker and lighter design compared to its predecessors. The laptop is believed to sport a 5K Thunderbolt display along with an integrated GPU. Fans are also positive that it will feature an OLED touch bar, which may replace the row of function keys.
A USB Type-C port is also said to be integrated in the MacBook Pro 2016 along with a Touch ID integration for security measures. It is expected to be equipped with an Apple Pencil enabled Trackpad, which is believed to be a next-gen Pencil that will be called Stylus with Inertial Sensor.
The patent information of the MacBook Pro 2016 states that the Inertial Sensor input may be gathered when operating the stylus in one or more inertial sensor input modes. Input modes may be an air mouse mode, a rotational controller mode, a joystick mode, or other inertial sensor input modes, Alphr reported.
MacBook Pro 2016 is also expected to be integrated with Intel Skylake processor coupled with an 8GB of RAM. Reports have also claimed that the new MacBook Pro 2016 will have an improved battery life that may last for more than 10 hours of continuous use. This is what you can expect out of MacBook Pro 2016.
