Actress Anne Hathaway has said that she is open to come back as Selina Kyle a.k.a Catwoman for DCEU films if there is an opportunity.
Hathaway played the role in Christopher Nolan's "Dark Knight" trilogy starring Christian Bale as Bruce Wayne a.k.a Batman. The "Dark Knight" trilogy is not part of the DCEU, though the Batman franchise is set for a revival with Ben Affleck replacing Bale at the titular role.
In an interview, Hathaway was asked if she would return to the role to which her response was an easy yes, Variety reported.
"I loved that character and I had such a blast playing her. I'm not sure how it would work because I think the Chris Nolan chapter of the Batman story has been wrapped up and I'm part of that, but I love the DC Universe and it would be fun to take a trip back."
Hathaway clarified that should a new actress be cast for the role, she will be nothing but supportive. She acknowledged that the possibility of someone else playing the character comes with the territory.
DC is yet to announce a plan to put Catwoman in the future of their film franchises but given the green light for a new "Batman" iteration, the idea could be a possibility, Screen Rant reported. Meanwhile, Hathaway is busy promoting her upcoming film "Colossal." She will also be part of the "Ocean's Eleven" franchise in the upcoming "Oceans 8" with an all-star cast including Sandra Bullock, Cate Blanchett and Helena Bonham Carter among others.
DC is yet to announce the release date for the new "Batman" solo movie. Stay tuned.
