The season two of CW’s enigmatic comedy “The Crazy Ex-Girlfriend” opened up with our heroine (Rebecca played by Rachel Bloom) finally admitting to her lifelong crush Josh Chan (played by Filipino American actor Vincent Rodriguez III) that she moved to West Covina to be with him. This left the guy dumbfounded.

“You moved here for me?” the guy exclaimed.

But Rebecca downplayed it a bit and then denied that she ever said that the two of them have had a love story. She is law school-trained with that playing it cool and no big deal thing, when in fact, it is a shocking confession.

Rebecca then turned around the table and suggested to Josh that they might as well ‘pump the brakes” on their budding romance. Josh, feeling guilty, then apologized to Rebecca. As the show is known for, Rebecca then burst into a Broadway song about she being a girl who is in love, complete with all back up dancers in a musical extravaganza style.

Rebecca then shared to (Paula Donna Lynne Champlin) her new relationship with Josh. But the latter noted that the guy is not sleeping in her bed. Rather, he only have sex with Rebecca and spends the night in the couch. “He’s eff-sploiting you,” Paula being the contrary-an and Rebecca defended that “He’s resp-effing the hell out of me.”

Paula is trying to convince Rebecca that Josh is not that much into her. She even noted that the guy does not care much about Rebecca in the same manner that she cared so much about him. This conversation led to a musical number where Rebecca is dressed as a cactus flower where she insisted that the tiny morsels of affection she gets from Josh are more than enough to sustain her.

Meanwhile, Paula has some addiction problems to deal with in this episode. She realized that she was deeply hooked with Rebecca’s relationship drama that it is about time that she should draw the line.

She then asked her friend to execute a legally-binding “friendship contract” where she stipulated that she should no longer be part of Rebecca’s crazy schemes. The contract Paula made was so good that it made her realize that she has some knack for legal work which led to her law school application.

Josh can no longer stay with Rebecca so he tried sleeping in the back room of the store where he currently works, on a “bed” made of bubble wrap. He then realized that it is not a long-term solution, he then moved back in with his adoring mother, a solution he does not love either. So he ended up back at Rebecca’s door. The episode closed with Josh and Rebecca doing a steamy R&B duet “We Should Definitely Not Have Sex Right Now.”

“The Crazy Ex-Girlfriend” airs Fridays 9PM on the CW.
