San Antonio Spurs remains unbeaten for their away game. Currently they are on the nine game winning streak and a 10-0 records in their away game.
San Antonio Spurs defeated Washington Wizards 112-100 on Saturday, Nov. 26 in their 10th away, just one day after they upset Boston Celtics 109-103 at TD Garden. According to Yahoo Sports, head coach Gregg Popovich impressed with the new members’ performance to catch up with the team strategy and keep the team on the long winning streak.
"Kyle Anderson and Jon Simmons haven't played much before. David Lee, Davis Bertans, and Dewayne Dedmon and Pau (Gasol) just all got here,” Popovich said. “So they've blended in very well pretty quickly. It was surprising."
Simmons posted 15 points while Anderson scored three points but he has been able to suit to the Popovich’s system. During the game at Verizon Center, Washington, the Spurs reserve players sparkled in the game according to San Antonio Express. Patty Mills and Jonathon Simmons scored crucial points to bring the Spurs lead the game in the second period.
LaMarcus Aldridge led the scorer in Washington with 24 points, followed by Tony Parker with 20 points and Kawhi Leonard posted 19 points. San Antonio Spurs now has a 14-3 records and they will return home to AT&T Center on Tuesday to play against Orlando Magic.
The Spurs bench players was able to score big to make up for the starters, who experienced fatigue after the Boston Celtics’ game and struggling to score. As Leonard and Aldridge hassled with their shooting. Leonard only scored 5 out of 14, while Aldridge made 9 shots of his 17 attempts.
San Antonio Spurs will host Orlando Magic at the AT&T Center, San Antonio, Texas. Popovich expected the team will continue to bring the vibe of the away game back to their home court.
