Korean singer-actor Rain has been invited to attend this year's Fashion Awards, making him the first Asian to attend the prestigious British event.

Korea Joongang Daily reported Rain's agency announced the news on Dec. 2, stating the British Fashion Council collaborated with Swarovski for Fashion Awards 2016, which will be held at the Royal Albert Hall in London on Dec. 5.

According to reports, Rain will be joined by Alexa Chung, Kate Moss, Babara Palvin, Karlie Kloss and more if the Korean singer-actor will grace the invitation to attend Fashion Awards 2016.

Yonhap defined Fashion Awards as an awarding event intended to recognize rising designers as well as models who have stood out. And for this year, the British Fashion Council announced all profits will be given to the Education Foundation of the board.

Further reports revealed the Fashion Awards 2016 can be streamed through V application.

Meanwhile, Rain debuted as a member of Fanclub at 16 years old. After releasing two albums, Rain debuted as a solo artist with the release of "Bad Guy" in 2002. In the same year, he dropped another album called "Rain 2."

In the following year, Rain became the host of "Music Bank." In 2004, Rain's popularity rose to fame with the release of "It's Raining." The album topped several music charts not only in Korea, but throughout Asia.

Rain held concerts in Japan, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, China, Japan, Taiwan, Australia and even United States and Canada. He was also the first Korean artist to hold a performance at the Tokyo Dome, gathering about 55,000 concertgoers.

Aside from serenading the fans, Rain also debuted as an actor on "Full House," where he shared the screen with Song Hye Kyo. After a couple of years, the idol made his way to the big screen for "I'm a Cyborg, But That's OK," which gave him a Best New Actor nod at the 43rd Baeksang Awards.
