Former 4minute member Sohyun will begin her promotions as a solo artist six months after the girl group confirmed disbandment.
According to Allkpop, Sohyun will kick off her promotions on "Serendipity," a travel variety program aired on SBS Plus. Aside from the 4minute member, Jang Hyuk, Han Chae Ah and Han Mi Chae have been confirmed to join the newest program.
"My determination is especially more special because this is my new start as a singer and an actress. I have visited Vietnam for performances but never got to enjoy and look around because of busy schedules," Sohyun said.
She went on, "With ["Serendipity"] having a theme of travel, I'll take this time to look back on myself and work hard to have a time of improvement."
4minute disbanded after most of the members' contracts expired with Cube Entertainment. After four of them refused to resign their contracts with the label, it was announced that the girl group will be disbanded after seven years, Soompi cited.
"Jihyun, Gayoon, Jiyoon, and Sohyun's contracts expired on June 14. All four of the members deliberated for a long time on whether or not they wanted to renew their contracts. Ultimately, they decided not to renew and subsequently left Cube Entertainment," the label revealed.
Cube Entertainment continued, "While it's unfortunate that 4Minute has come to an end, we give the four members our blessings as they embark on this new journey. We ask that you continue to give the four members the same love and support as always."
A few weeks after the disbandment of 4minute, Sohyun was spotted enjoying a trip overseas. Now, the former 4minute member is ready for her solo promotions on "Serendipity."
The SBS Plus program "Serendipity" is slated to broadcast about 10 episodes in 2017. Are you excited to see Sohyun again?
