Philippines' children fantasy show "Lola Basyang.com" will compete in the prestigious Prix Jeunesse International or the Oscars for Children's TV.

According to TV 5's "Interaksyon," "Lola Basyang.com is included in the festival's catalogue under the Quality in Children's TV Worldwide" category.

The series stars veteran Filipino actress Boots Anson-Roa as Lola Basyang, an elderly woman who loves sharing stories to her grandchildren and the younger generation.

Since the show has been modernized to include the use of technology, Lola Basyang now reads stories to her grandchildren via the use of an iPad or a laptop.

Meanwhile, on his official Facebook page, director Perci Intalan confirmed the good news by sharing a collage of photos from the show.

"Congratulations Team 'LolaBasyang.com.' So proud of you guys!" Intalan wrote.

More specifically, the show qualified for the nomination with its episode entitled "Ang Plautin Ni Periking" which starred TV5 actress Valeen Montenegro and Vin Abrenica.
