"Grimm" will make its last vow in the final episode of its upcoming Season 6, confirms NBC. The cancellation leave fans rallying to file a petition to extend the series.
The end of "Grimm" Season 6 will come sooner than later because its episode run was cut short from 22 to 13. Some cast members of the series had already begun bidding goodbyes on social media, Collider reported.
"While we're sad to announce the [sixth] season will be our last, we're thrilled to be going out with a bang," Elizabeth Tulloch wrote. The actress went to say that she is thankful to all their fans who helped them reach 123 episodes in total.
There is also a report of a brewing spin-off based on "Grimm" characters. The supposed spin-off series will be about Monroe (Silar Weir Mitchell) and Rosalee (Bree Turner) and their child according to rumors.
Fans petition Netflix to continue the show after airing Season 6 on NBC. They opined that the series will be more successful should the streaming giant pick it up for more seasons. They said that the there are still plenty of opportunities for storylines within the "Grimm" universe.
"Grimm" has had steady ratings for NBC even after hitting the 100-episode mark last Season. The first season averaged more than 6.3 million viewers going up to 7 to nearly 8 million viewers before dipping to nearly 6 million in Season 5, Variety reported.
"Grimm" is a police procedural fantasy television drama that follows a world where characters inspired by Grimm's fairytales exist. The final season is slated for release on Jan. 6, 2017.
