The midseason of "Timeless" will introduce a new time traveler. Likewise, Agent Christopher will likely join Lucy, Wyatt and Rufus aboard the Oculus in the second half of the season.
The second half of "Timeless" will welcome a new character, according to Executive Producer Shawn Ryan. When asked what to expect from the midseason, he teased the arrival of a new time traveler.
"We're going to expand our cast of characters in the time travel arena a little bit," Ryan told TV Line.
In the same interview, Ryan also revealed that a mainstay character might join Rufus (Malcolm Barrett), Wyatt (Matt Lanter) and Lucy (Abigail Spencer) in their time-travelling missions. He did not mention who, but hinted that this person is someone who wants to get a better understanding of what is happening around them.
"There are going to be people who understand that it'd be nice to have a deeper bench than they currently have," Ryan further told the publication.
Did Ryan just refer to Agent Christopher (Sakina Jaffrey)? The midseason finale of "Timeless" hinted that she might be aboard the Oculus when the series returns. To recap, she saved photos of her family in a disc in case they get erased from the timeline. Christopher then asked Lucy to keep the disc until the time she needs reminding that her family exists.
Her actions in the midseason finale of "Timeless" suggests she is about to embark on a time-travel mission. Followers of the series are familiar with what happens when one travels in time--they ultimately lose someone. Lucy lost her sister after she came back from her first mission.
Likewise, it is interesting to point out what co-Executive Producer Eric Kripke said about Agent Christopher's plans in the midseason. According to Entertainment Weekly, Kripke advised viewers to monitor the cop's movements outside of the time traveling.
