The new trailer for the "King Arthur: Legend of the Sword" featured intense scenes apt for its current dub as an "iconoclastic take on the classic Excalibur myth."
As per Gamespot, the official plot description released by Warner Bros. shows that the medieval action adventure follows the story of Arthur "from the streets to the throne," which basically showed the journey of Arthur's reclamation of the throne after the murder of his father. The protagonists' nemesis in the movie is none other than his uncle Vortigern (Jude Law), who basically became the king after the death of Arthur's father.
Meanwhile, Daily Mail commented that aside from noticeable acting acumen by the casts and the intense scenes, the trailer also showed the superb visuals and cinematography that the movie has to offer. On the other hand, Deadline reported that the movie is more action-packed than any of the English folklore ever made in big screens.
Aside from Charlie Hunnam, who plays the lead character, the show also has Astrid Berges-Frisbey, Djimon Hounsou, Aidan Gillen, Eric Bana, Annabelle Wallis, Hermione Corfield, Djimon Honsou, Akiva Goldsman, Joby Harold, Tory Tunnel and Steve Clark-Hall. Bruce Bernan and David Dobkin will be the executive producers while the film will be helmed by Guy Ritchie, who is also known for movies such as "Snatch," "The Man from U.N.C.L.E." and "Sherlock Holmes."
"King Arthur: Legend of the Sword" will be distributed by Warner Bros. in North America while Village Roadshow Pictures will have it in selected areas. Along with the trailer, the promotional poster, featuring none other than King Arthur himself (Charlie Hunnam), has also been officially released.
The ascension of King Arthur to the throne from being nothing is confirmed to hit theaters on May 12. "King Arthur: Legend of the Sword" will be released later than its original schedule, which was initially on March 24.
