Before the revelation that they are biological brothers, it was hard for the netizens and fans to recognize that South Korean actor, singer, and 5urprise member Gong Myung and Doyoung of the boy group NCT are related. Now that their relationship is widely known to the public, what does Gong have to say to his younger sibling?
According to the 23-year-old star, he is so pleased to see the progress of his brother’s achievements as he starts his journey in the entertainment industry.
"He'll do a good job on his own. I want to become a hyung (older brother) who can be respectful to my dongsaeng (younger brother), and in the future, I want both of us to be successful enough to where people wonder, 'How can there be siblings like them,'" Gong said, according to All KPop.
It is the first time that Gong has talked about his Doyoung. He admitted that he has been waiting for a long time to express his feelings about him.
Doyoung, 21, has reportedly been a talented singer since he was a kid. In fact, he has received various award for singing, Gong revealed.
“But because I debuted first, I think it egged [Doyoung] on a little (laughter). We're cheering each other on. Please look at us fondly,” he added.
NCT (or "Neo Culture Technology") is under the management of S.M. Entertainment, one of the largest entertainment companies in South Korea. The group was formed in April and is made up of 15 members namely Doyoung ,Taeil, Taeyong, Ten, Jaehyun, Mark, Hansol, Johnny, Yuta, Kun, Winwin, Jeno, Donghyuck, Jaemin, and Jisung.
On the other hand, Gong’s 5urprised was formed in 2013. Along with him in the group are Seo Kang-joon, Yoo Il, Kang Tae-oh and Lee Tae-hwan.
