Golden Melody Awards is the Taiwanese equivalent of the United State’s Grammy Awards. It was founded by China’s Ministry of Culture in 1990 and is held annually in Taiwan. The awards are presented to Mandarin, Taiwanese, Hakka, and Formosan-speaking artists. In total, there are 22 categories in the competition.

In 2004, Lin won the Best New Artist award for his debut album ‘Music Voyager.’ In the following year, he was nominated for the Best Mandarin Male Singer but did not succeed in taking home the award.

The award-winning star is best known for his compositions like ‘Remember’ performed by Taiwanese singer A-Mei, ‘Let Go’ by A-Do, and ‘Heart of Superman’ sang by Comic Boyz. He is currently signed to Warner Music Taiwan.
