A renowned cosmetics company has penalized Kim Min Hee for breach of contract after issues linking the South Korean actress to a married director came out in June.
According to reports, the "Very Ordinary Couple" actress was fined by the company after the latter refused to release Kim's advertisement to protect the reputation of the company. The cosmetics company also denied that the actress has already paid for the damages caused by controversy. "We are discussing the penalty fee with Kim Min Hee's side right now," Soompi quoted the cosmetics company.
Kim reportedly signed a one-year contract with the cosmetics company late last year and was even assigned to be the brand ambassador. With that said, the "Very Ordinary Couple" actress was able to complete a photo shoot for the brand before the controversy made headlines.
The controversy started when Kim starred in "Right Now, Wrong Then," which was directed by Hong Sang Soo. It is said that the alleged affair between Kim and Hong has been going on since the two met for the film. After the issue got out, the director reportedly flew to the United States to avoid the controversies.
The 56-year-old director is married to a US citizen whom he have met while studying in the United States. The married couple has a daughter who is deemed to be in her 20s.
Meanwhile, Mwave reported that Hong attended the 27th France Marseille International Film Festival on July 13; however, he refused to comment about the controversy. On the other hand, Kim was last seen when she arrived at the Incheon International Airport on July 17.
