"Luke Cage" actress Simone Missick revealed that her character Misty Knight will be on "The Defenders."

In an interview, Missick jokingly said, "Spoiler alert! If I lose my job because of this interview, sorry! I was supposed to be on 'The Defenders,' until I got fired," The Wrap reported. However, she did not say anything how her character will play exactly in the narrative of the upcoming series.

In the Marvel comics, Knight is a New York City police officer who loses her right arm in line of duty. Tony Stark a.k.a Iron Man took a pity on her a designed a robotic arm replacement that gives her super strength. The character would later on embark on a career as a superhero with her own detective agency. The source material for the character is reportedly rich with interactions with Danny Rand a.k.a Iron Fist and Luke Cage himself.

However, in the live-action concept of the character in "Luke Cage" TV series, she will not have her trademark bionic arm just yet, Screen Rant reported. Therefore, it is possible that her character in the upcoming series will also be a platform for her superhero origin story.

Fans also speculate that Misty Knight will be the tie-in basis in the creation of the Defenders. However, do note that this has not been confirmed and it is also entirely possible that the reiteration of the character will take a different route.

"The Defenders" is a mini-series that will feature the team-up of "Daredevil," "Jessica Jones," "Luke Cage," and "Iron Fist." It will serve as the Avengers-style version of Marvel properties under Netflix.
