"The Walking Dead" Season 7 finale gave a big shock to fans with a tragic end for Sasha. But it shows how the production team stay loyal to the comics. Actress Sonequa Martin-Green shared her opinion on Sasha's death.
Although fans have prepared themselves to deal with the death of Sasha in the "The Walking Dead" Season 7 finale, but they would expect the production team to deviate from the storyline. However, the executive producers and the entire team remain loyal to the storyline written by Robert Kirkman with the illustration from Tony Moore, and Charlie Adlard. In the comics, Sasha committed suicide and become the walker to counter Ned's plan for using her as the bargaining chip with Rick.
"The Walking Dead" Season 7 finale did exactly what the comics depicted. Ned who planned to use Sasha as the hostage for Rick placed her in the coffin and came to Alexandria to use her against Rick. In the coffin, Sasha who had herself a poison capsule from Eugene determined to foil Ned's plan. After a heartfelt trip down the memory lane, she took the pill and turned into the walker. As Ned opened the coffin, a zombified Sasha attacked him, thus making Ned's plan failed.
Sasha was later killed by Maggie. Martin-Green, who played Sasha, in an interview with IGN shared her view on Sasha's death in the "The Walking Dead" Season 7 finale. She said Sasha's death was perfect. She explained, "It just felt so right and complete. It was quite poetic when I found out how it was going to happen."
The season finale ended with the citizens of the Alexandria, Kingdom and Hilltop joined forces to fight The Saviors, as recapped by Independent. Negan and his gang, The Saviors will have to face the all-out-war from the neighboring cities, as Rick and Maggie has finally agreed to end Negan's evil deeds.
