The criticism and random comment received by the films for the poor execution or storyline are always met with a positive response because they form a pathway for learning and improvement. When the Ryan Reynold starrer "Green Lantern" did not do well at the box office, like the other superheroes movies, the star did not give up. Last year he was seen as the protagonist superhero "Deadpool", in the Marvel Studio movie which was a box office success. Recent speculations state that "Green Lantern" had resulted in the accidental creation of "Deadpool".
According to news received from CinemaBlend, Reynolds had played the role of Deadpool in many movies such as "X-Men Origins: Wolverine"even before the making of the movie Deadpool was thought of. He had dreamt of developing an individual movie for the superhero but the studios had not yet decided on whether they would want to take the step and create a script for the movie. He spent time even during his "Green lantern" days to improve and form the script for the 'Merc with the mouth'.
"Green lantern" was supposed be a series movie in which Reynolds would have acted as the protagonist but due to the underwhelming response from the first movie, DC decided to cancel the plan of continuous movies. This opened a window of opportunity for Ryan Reynolds to dedicate his efforts towards making Wade Wilson a star on the big screen with his own individual movie.
Celebstarznews further tells us that Ryan Reynolds also mentioned in a THR interview, that he was worried about the fact, that he might never be able to play "Deadpool. This was because he had earlier chosen the "Green Lantern" franchise instead, since it was a more concrete path to walk on. Although the star received certain criticisms, it did prove to be a complete loss because it allowed him to move on to the Marvel masterpiece.
Reynolds, Wernick and Reese spent all their extra time into creating animated Deadpool test footage during the "Green Lantern" days which was later leaked online a few years after the movie and was met with acclaim from fans. This raised a type of frenzy and ended up with the company creating an entire film.
